Scarlet Butterfly is a West Yorkshire based model with four years experience specialising mainly in alternative modelling. She is an established and popular steampunk model specialising mainly in this genre alongside gothic and fantasy inspired work.
Whilst classically trained in ballet she is also an aerial dancer and performance artist specialising in theatrical and cirque style poledance and also fire. She performs regularly on the burlesque, cabaret and festival circuits, and enjoys bringing this aspect of creativity into her modelling work. She is very imaginative and creative and enjoys working on concepts and characters for both her modelling and performance work, and she has a flair for costume and outfit creation. She regularly incorporates the use of beautiful silks, fan veils, elaborate costume pieces, exquisite cloaks and long trailing feather bustles into her work. These qualities make her a very flexible and versatile model, and she is able to switch easily between kick ass steampunk imagery, dark and freaky ‘Tim Burton’ inspired artisty, through to whimsical, fantasy and faerie character based expression, as well as elegant, graceful dance based styles of modelling. There is also the added bonus of being able to do all of this on a pole or with fire too, if that is what the photo shoot requires.
For those wishing to do poledance based shoots, she has portable, freestanding pole equipment which can be taken and erected anywhere, provided there is a level surface and a minimum of 10.5ft of height clearance. The pole has even been used in woodland setting based photo shoots, but of course outdoor pole shoots have to be weather permitting. Photo shoots with fire are also possible indoor (where venues are suitable) or outside (weather permitting).
Scarlet is experienced in modelling for both location and studio shoots, and is always interested in working and innovating with photographers on creative and collaborative projects.
